Tour Description

Playing golf from the hills of Custoza down to the golf course born from the sea! From the fresh waters of Lake Garda to the salty taste of the Mediterranean sea of the beautiful island of Albarella

Spread out among vineyards that frame the Custoza hills west of Verona, located in a miraculously intact landscaped environment, the Golf Club Verona stands as the preferred destination tour in the traditional golf tourism of northern Europe. A hilly course with slopes, challenging only at times. The first nine holes are narrow and shorter; but the following nine holes are longer and broader.
The elevated greens require well-calculated approaches.

We will spend two nights at the Garda thermal park, a 13-hectare natural spa surrounded by rare plants and century-old trees. Continuing our tour towards the sea we will cross villages, vineyards, olive groves taking our caravan through bends and counterbends. We will visit the mills and cellars of our partners. We will taste Recioto, Soave, Custoza, Lugana, Bardolino of the Garda inland area, Lessini Durello, Arcole in the lowlands and Valdadige in the land of forts matching them with the typical dishes of the Verona area. The tables will always be laden with the tortellini of Valeggio, Vialone Nano rice, boiled meat with peara, bigoli, soppressa, cheese, desserts such as nadalin, rafioi and much more than our palate will be able to recount. We will continue to Montagnana, famous for its DOP ham and, crossing Rovigo and Adria (this is the location of the Adria International Raceway), we will reach the Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta. The park is characterised by various environments, each with unique characteristics: the countryside with its riverbeds, fossil dunes, dykes, floodplains, the fishing valleys, lagoons and sandbanks. Flawless sunrises and fantastic sunsets.
The last two days will be devoted to Albarella, a private island surrounded by the unspoilt nature of the northern Adriatic situated in the lagoon south of Venice. Outdoor activities in a natural habitat for deer, pheasants, hares, herons, hawks, black-winged stilts and egrets.

The golf course of the island was designed by the English architect John Dering Harris. “I will design an 18-hole golf course near the beach and will be inspired by the classic Scottish links, layouts created by the sea that have made the history of golf. I will build a golf course that will combine the best technique with a beautiful landscape. Here is Scotland with Mediterranean climate”. And it has been so since 1972.

18 holes… par 72 ... 70 hectares of land ... enriched by a number of water hazards and bunkers that will test the skill of players with dunes, lakes and wild olive trees... in good company of island deer!

A holiday-tour dedicated to the discovery of something natural and special.
